We are pleased with your interest in writing for The Active Seniors Newspaper. We are a monthly printed publication with an estimated monthly readership of 60,000+ as well as online publication.
As an Active Seniors Author you have a variety of options for contributing:

- Blog
- Message Boards
Generally speaking all content which is included in the montly printed edition of The Active Seniors Newspaper will also be published via this website. However, space in the montly printed newspaper is limited so many articles are only published via this website.
The Active Seniors also has a Blogging system available via this website. You may learn more about Blogs by reading at Wikipedia.com.
All submissions are made electronically via this website regardless of the final destination of your work. If you have not already done so, please Register with this website and create a user account.
Once you are registered you can beging contributing immediately to the Active Seniors Message Board and Blog. If you wish to contribute articles for the printed Newspaper or the website, you must contact the Editor and apply to become an Author.

- The publisher and editors do not accept responsibility for the statements made by authors.
- Articles for the printed Newspaper should be limited to a MAXIMUM of 300 words. However, articles which are posted on this website can have an unlimited length.
- A photo of the author should be included, if possible.
- Please list your full name, title (if appropriate), place of employment (if applicable), address, phone number and e-mail address at the end of the article. The purpose of this information is to give you proper credit and to give readers a follow-up opportunity with you.
- Keep the readers in mind (ACTIVE seniors 50+), and TALK to them through your written word. KEEP IT CONVERSATIONAL. Write the way you would talk!
- Keep sentences short.
- Prefer the simple to the complex.
- Avoid words you don’t need.
- Put action into your verbs.
- Use terms your reader can picture.
- Relate to our readers’ experiences. Approximately 40% of our readers are ages 30 to 55 and other 60% are ages 55 and over.
- Make full use of variety.
- Write to express, not impress.
- Keep readability between grade levels 7 through 9., e.g., The National Inquirer is about a 7th grade reading level, the Readers Digest is about a 9th grade level.
- ALL PRINTED MATERIAL SUBMITTED BECOMES THE PROPERTY OF THE PUBLISHER, UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE IN WRITING
